system193/194

Product description

With system193 and system194, multi-channel converters of 2-32 audio channels can be individually configured to the same exceptional level of quality as the 2-channel variants adda191 and adda191 reference, including various analogue and digital input and output modules and control elements.

system193 and system194 consist of two modular mainframes that can be equipped according to customer requirements, including rack brackets and transport handles in the standard 19-inch format, either with 3 height units(system193) or with 4 height units(system194). The 4U version is used as soon as digital multi-channel interfaces in MADI, DANTE etc. formats are required. AES/EBU interfaces are available in the 3U version. The system194 has a 1U level below the system193 to accommodate the additional multi-channel functionality.

However, numerous other possible uses and additional configurations are also conceivable. In principle, all technologies and modules used in other devices are available. For example, the analogue volume control from the adda191 reference – even including remote control – could be combined with a number of the analogue inputs from the dac-pre. This creates an analogue monitoring controller… or a flexible monitoring system in combination with converters, for example 2 ADCs, 4 DACs, 8 analogue inputs plus 4 digital inputs… or one ADC is equipped with many AES outputs and the high-precision clock of the ADC serves as the central master clock.

So there are countless conceivable scenarios, talk to us about your special requirements!

Equipment and information

Femto-Clock II

The most important criterion for a converter between digital music data and analogue music is a time base that is as exact as possible. The analogue vibrations are stored digitally as many points in a coordinate system, so to speak. The Y-axis is the amplitude (volume), the X-axis is the time. The amplitude can therefore be defined as precisely as possible, but if the time base wobbles, there will inevitably be errors.

Arfi-DAC topology

There are various ideas circulating in the hi-fi sector about what the ideal DA converter should look like: NOS, R2R, Ladder and DSD of various clock rates. However, the delta-sigma principle has been widely accepted in the audio industry for decades, and experts have not really questioned it for a long time.

Fully balanced analogue signal processing

After the input stage, the audio signal remains balanced throughout until it reaches the power amplifiers. These output the signal symmetrically again, and then the output filters and speaker outputs are also symmetrical again. This results in a higher signal-to-noise ratio and greater immunity to interference of any kind.
