Stravinsky’s “Le Sacre du Printemps” as an exclusive Vinyl Edition celebrating the centenary of its premiere.
The year 2013 saw the hundredth anniversary of the legendary 1913 premiere of Stravinsky’s “Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring)” in Paris. Back then one of the largest scandals the world of music had ever seen, the work today is regarded as a masterpiece of epochal impact. It marks a turning point in the history of 20th century music as the new dawn of modernity. As unaccustomed as the audience back then was to the new sounds; as new as polytonality and polyrhythm were in these days; as unusual the highly complex layering of sounds and motifs – still this work originally composed for the ballet has quickly found a lasting place in concert halls in the whole world and to this day has lost nothing of its potential.
A few years ago, we already seized the opportunity to capture Jonathan Darlington’s highly energetic and dramatic interpretation of the work in a live setting as part of the LIVING CONCERT SERIES in the seasoned combination with the Duisburg Philharmonics. Darlington describes the images of the story with atmospheric intensity and a colorful musical idiom in such a captivating and excellent manner, that ACOUSENCE has decided to release this grand piece of music history on vinyl as an exclusive special edition to celebrate its hundredth anniversary.
The original master has again been balanced in sound down to the most delicate nuances to ideally adapt the large dynamics and impact of the work to the vinyl disc, but also to bring out even the tiniest details. The pressing was done at the highest quality “audiophile manufactory” at 180g “Virgin Vinyl”.
Belenus Quartett / String Quartets / Haydn - Bartók
Powerful, virtuosic and breathtaking string quartet
The Belenus Quartet was awarded with the special prize for best Haydn interpretation at the "Sandor Vegh Competition" in 2012. With exciting vitality, sensitivity to rich nuances and powerful virtuosity, the four young musicians are brilliant and breathtaking in their reading of Bartók's String Quartet No. 4; there is hardly another quartet in the literature which features such depth and diversity of sound in all of the instruments. Each of the five movements creates a special sound cosmos. For example, hardly anywhere else in the string quartet literature is there a movement of pizzicato throughout like the fourth movement.
A treat for audiophiles is this special edition limited to 999 copies on 2, 45 rpm vinyl records which is 180 g pressing with exclusive packaging (2 separate cases with booklet included in a boxed set).

Horenstein Ensemble
Fionnuala McCarthy, Soprano
The Horenstein Ensemble brings to its debut album an interesting search for clues, where connoisseurs and music lovers alike will sit up and take notice! On CD, HD Studio Master, DVD+FLAC and audiophile 180g Vinyl!
The Horenstein Ensemble wants to present the great diversity of chamber music and the interplay of various instrument types such as strings, winds and harp. The members of the ensemble, all musicians of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, all strive to produce in their interpretations the best possible sound with many layers of colour, or freely adapted from the words of Leopold Stokowski: “Sound, good sound, is paramount”
The listener is presented with works of great variety, yet the proximity of the works is also apparent. The four works were all composed within 25 years of each other, and the musical language, character (one could almost attribute a unifying sound to all the pieces) and chamber music gesture are all closely related. Having said that, each of these pieces has its own special tone, each one achieving a new balance between the archaic and the modern. Also, each of the four pieces has its own specific instrumentation which lends it its own individual taste.
